Teaser Trailer for the World Premiere...
Kissproof World takes its title from GoGo's rocker Jane Wiedlin’s 2000 solo album of the same title. Initially, Producers Dave Shaw and Frank Habets had contacted her to ask if she would allow use of the title and a few songs from the album. “Jane was kind enough to give us the go ahead in that regard, which was a blessing in and of its self,” says Shaw. Wiedlin is also an actor, having appeared in several movies since her debut in 1985’s "Clue". She is likely best known in this arena for portraying Joan of Arc in the 1989 cult classic "Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure". This got the pair of producers thinking. “We asked if Jane would agree to cameo in the film. She read the script and her answer again, was yes. We were extremely lucky!”, says Shaw.
Kissproof World is a jet black comedy in which, for ambiguous reasons, all the women in the world have started killing all the men. Hoping to escape this, four young women ranging in age from 18 to 25, decide to go hide out at an old bomb shelter in the middle of the woods. Their religion, spiritual beliefs and survival instincts are all put to the test when an older woman appears to join their ranks, and what might be the last man alive inches ever closer to their location. Kissproof World is aimed primarily at the young adult crowd who made "Twilight" and "The Hunger Games" such huge success stories.
Appearing with Wiedlin in the film, shot in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada and San Francisco, California, are (Above, clockwise) Angela Parent (Jurassic Shark), Vivian Sainte-Marie, Christina Roman (Gnomercy, Homicycle), and, from Belial Productions' previous feature Late Night Classics presents GORILLA! , Jenne Hicks. Another "GORILLA!" alum, Irish O'Brien, plays the mysterious other woman. Popular Ottawa film director Brett Kelly has a cameo.
